staying present when it’s hard

For the first week or so of being in Guatemala City, I was really homesick, disconnected, and not present. One night, we were going over James 4 as a team and this passage really hit me in what I was going through. “Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or...

God has awakened some new passions in me.

Our ministry host has been taking my team to a place called The Line. There we met women who think they are only good for one thing and that one thing is sex. To all the women there, this is a job because some of them didn’t complete school. Most are single mothers. Some are 14 years old. They are not only this but they are also daughters, sisters and most importantly they ARE God’s beloved creations. To speak with them and hear them say they want safety and stability. To pray for them and also the men that are there because it’s hard to remember that they are God’s...

Hey family and friends! I know it’s been a while since my last blog post and I am sooo sorry. I’m going to try and fit the last three weeks in a single blog post, so this may look a bit longer than the others. It’s official! I’ve been in Guatemala for exactly two months, and Guatemala City for three weeks!!! The Lord has shown my team and I some beautiful stuff since we’ve shown up at YWAM. (YWAM stands for Youth With A Mission, look them up, they’re legit). These weeks have been packed with different missionary opportunities, a lot of new experiences and...
