Ministry in Chichi

We have been in Chichicastenago for almost three weeks now.  We have been involved in several different ministry opportunities.  Here is an overview of ministry so far.. We are teaching English at two schools.  We teach at the older school (basically their high school) in the morning and the younger elementary school in the afternoons.  The older school was pretty difficult at first and we were all pretty frustrated because we had 1 hour 20 minute classes and the teacher had no lesson plans or any kind of outline for us.  After two days of classes we decided to create...

By grace through faith

It’s been a wild week for sure. Between teaching English in the mornings to the high schoolers and teaching English in the evenings to the elementary aged kids life has been busy. But thankfully not to crazy. Last week our team had the opportunity to minister to the local law enforcement and go to the public hospital to pray over those in it. Our host told us to pray over anyone we felt God was guiding us to. In all honesty, I didn’t have any expectation as far as what the hospital would look like. But I do know I saw far more poverty than I imagined seeing. My heart is still heavy...

Cat Ministry

Hello friends! Welcome to my first blog. It is currently the end of week 1 of my three month stay in Guatemala. For the first month, we are staying in a town called Chichicastenango. It’s a beautiful little mountain town that is rich in Mayan culture. We flew into Guatemala City on Monday, January 30.  From there we had a four hour drive to Chichi.
