Training Camp Round Two

Hi my name is Laura Marchand! I’m 18 years old and I’m from Virginia. I recently got back from a passport trip to Ecuador where God did some absolutely amazing things! On that trip God really put it on my heart to go back to two countries He wrecked my heart for, Nepal and India. I followed that call and decided to sign up for the Spring trip! And at 3:30 AM my team and I will be leaving to start this amazing journey to India and Nepal!   I left Virginia on the 21st and over these past couple days I have been at training camp in Georgia. During training camp we get to...

A Long Road to Nepal And India

Hey! So, tomorrow is the day I fly off to the USA for my training camp in Atlanta. It’s odd to think that all this is happening so soon, it’s been a long six months of preparation and fundraising, but now it’s finally about to happen. In July of 2015 I decided to google “Christian Mission Trips” and Adventures in Missions was the first organization to pop up. I searched through the website and found that they were offering a three month trip to India and Nepal, which would cost a total of $6,344 USD which in AUD is around $9000, (Plus another $200 I’d...

What does a Mustard Seed got to do with Missions?

“He said therefore, ‘What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden, and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.'” Luke 13:18-19 For those of you who may not know, I was called last year to team up with a missions organization to go to Costa Rica for two months this summer. Due to logistics, I was called instead to Nepal, and then due to the earthquake, my team eventually found ourselves with plane tickets to India and Thailand. We spent...

Sinners, Deserts, and Some Radical Love

“Guilt went looking for my past but all it found was love. And I’ve been transformed.” Or, to be a little more accurate, I’ve been transforming. That’s kind of been God’s theme for my life this past year. Oh and has it been incredible. As most of you know, I spent last July in Africa. I don’t know why, because looking back, I wanted to know Jesus desperately, but did I know Him? Maybe a little bit. But not enough to go out to the desert for Him. So as I look back, I start to wonder how I got there. I wonder if I knew Him just enough for Him to pull...
