Little Hearts

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” -Matthew 6:21    Coming into this week of ministry, I was very hesitant about teaching children. I’ve never been very good with kids unlike many of my friends. Kids ministry was definitely out of my comfort zone; especially when teaching English in a culture I don’t know very much about.     God challenged me to step out and really make an effort to teach; not just sit on the sidelines and watch the other girls who were more comfortable with the ministry. I prayed for courage, and...

THE PROSTITUTE AND THE FLOWER ARE THE SAME

I watched as the flower was bought, money exchanged from hand to hand, and carefully held as they approached the steps. Gently they slid their sandals off and their bare feet felt the stone steps leading up to the platform, and just as careful as the flower was exchanged, they knelt as their children follow and pray to the single statue erected in the middle of a park where the feeling of pain and darkness is truly tangible in the air. After minutes they rose to their feet, laid the flower at the foot of the statue along with 1000s of other accompanying it, and in perfect cyclical...

Then there’s Courage which is sectioned off into three autonomous floors. The first floor has kids from ages 2-6, this is also where preschool is held. The 2nd floor is home...

Beauty Beyond Blisters

It’s been twelve days here in India, and I just now decided I am in love. I am in love with the people. I am in love with my team. I am in love with the One who loves me more than I can imagine. I have so many fun stories to tell, but the Lord wants me to share one about feet. That’s right. FEET. I’ve never been a huge fan of my feet. I think my toes are awkward and stubby. My toenails are all different sizes. Oh and we can’t forget about how weird that pinky toe of mine is with its tiny bit of a nail. Let’s face it. I’m never gonna be a foot model. I was...
