Heavy Hearts and Tired Arms

(I’m a little late on the blog scene being that this happened our first week of ministry in Kathmandu, and I’m now home from Nepal….better late than never, right? Here’s a glimpse into one of our ministries in Nepal) “This ministry makes my heart beat fast every time I go to do it, but I say, ‘As long as God comes with me, I can go.'” These were the words we heard from our leader, Rose (name changed for discretion) as we stepped into our first day of bar ministry. I had never been to a brothel before, and after hearing that, I didn’t know...

Wildfire

I had no clue what the Lord had in store. I had no clue what the ministry would entail. I had no clue the amount of relationships that would be built. I had no clue the hardships, the laughter, the memories, and the growth that would occur on this trip. The expectations I had were ripped away and replaced by something even better. I am beyond thankful for this trip. We saw prayers answered, pastors equipped, children in poverty smile, demons being cast out, fears revealed and covered by the peace of Jesus, and prophecy fulfilled. We saw a beautiful child of our ministry host born, a women’s...

Learning How to Say Goodbye

Im back in the USA with A/C, warm water, and a comfy hotel bed, and all I can think about is that I learned so much from an 11 year old on this trip. I got the opportunity to go to slum ministry for one day. It was basically like an hour of loving on and teaching kids from a poor part of town. I thought I would be more excited since kids are my cup of tea, but I was confused. “What good am I going to do in these kids lives for the 60 minutes I have with them?” and other negative thoughts streamed my mind while riding a bus to the slum. I was thankful to go, but almost second guessed...

Bread of Life

“I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats from this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” John 6:51 Our team took a four day trek to the mountains with our ministry dad this past week to spend some time in the villages. Our first stop was in a tiny village about 6 hours outside of where we live in Kathmandu. We were housed with the parents of one of the men who had come with us on the excursion, Emmanuel. Their kindness and love towards our group was unwavering; a lot like Jesus’s love for...

Weeks before and now

The weeks leading to training camp were both exciting and not. Some days I would be so stoked that I would want to go ASAP but other days I would rather just crawl into bed and pretend it was already August. I was nervous meeting everyone in person and seeing how they would react to the trip too. The Saturday before my dad, brother and I started the drive and during that time I wasn’t really excited or nervous, just numb. I didn’t know if this was really the plan for me to go across the world or if it was me ignoring God’s plan. When arriving to training camp I was so nervous...
