Thailand Ministry

I’ve been in Thailand for a few weeks now, and it’s nothing like I expected. We are living at the church and me and another girl use our sleeping pads to sleep in the lobby of the church because it’s the only place that’s cool. I bought skinny jeans and a little make up because as it turns out, you’re supposed to fit in enough to not stand out at the bars. Who knew? Sorry missionary skirts, see you never again. Thai food is spicy and my stomach cannot hang. We are working on it. There’s a coffee stand around the corner that has the best coffee in town for...

Many Thanks

I would like to dedicate this blog to a few people. I feel like I need I give a big thank you to these people, and I hope I can string together my words well enough to make one coherent blog. Just a few days ago, I started running 2 miles a day with my teammate Lauren. To prepare myself for this miserable journey of self improvement, I made an amazing...

The Rumors Are True!

You may have heard that I’m returning to Cambodia, for like an entire year to teach English…. the rumors are true. That I am. My teammate came up to me later and told me the Holy Spirit gave her the word “fellowship” for me. On Friday of the second week, we took an unexpected trip to Siem Reap to take a teammate to the hospital, and only half of our team was able to...

Not for Sale

Two weeks time have come and gone since my team and I arrived in Patong Beach, Phuket, Thailand where we were welcomed into the ministry, fellowship, home and hospitality of the little but generous church called New Beginnings. Amongst the three bible studies, Sunday morning church service, and Thursday night volleyball ministry we participate in throughout each week, our other main purpose is bar ministry in the afternoon and night time. What that tangibly looks like is just simply having conversations- with those people (mainly tourists) who we sit beside and the women and men who work at...
