Is Your Field Ready?

I hate waiting. Waiting on people, waiting on food to be made, waiting for the next big moment in my life- you get the picture. I went to Zambia to actually do something, to be different than my previous mission trips that wasted so much time so we could “have fun”. If I’m going to go halfway across the world, it’s going to be to work for God as much as I can. But God has a really funny way of taking your plans and saying “oh that’s cute you made your own plans” and then doing the complete opposite just to teach you a lesson. Over the past week or two,...

Waiting on the Lord

The course of this trip has been somewhat of a roller coaster. Going from total joy and excitement to the lows of wishing I could be back home but one theme has been constant throughout the entire trip, listening and obeying the Lord and finding patience through that. I came on this trip with a lot of expectations that in all honesty have not been met and I now know probably won’t be by the time this trip comes to an end. I have found out that my plan and God’s plan were not the same. Because of this over the past 2-3 weeks my journal pages have been plagued by many questions. What...

Making mountains of Ant Hills

As humans,  we find ourselves often drifting through the motions without even considering all that is passing by. Sure, we will blame it on our culture and the fast,  endless reality we are trapped in,  but I think there is a time at which it becomes our responsibility to swim upstream. God’s Not Done

Over the past two weeks since this trip began we have seen amazing things happen. Our team has grown closer together. We have been vulnerable together. We have shared life stories together. We have seen the Lord tear down walls in each other and seen the spiritual growth occurring in everyone. We have ministered to widows, youth and children. We have prayed together and built walkways together. We have jumped off bridges together and walked the Victoria falls together. Friendships have been formed that will last a lifetime. We have been taught new skills. Patience have been tested. The Lord...

The Power of Prayer

Hello from Livingstone, Zambia! The team has been here a week now and it could not be better. Perfect weather and our hosts Lweeda and Sanderson have been absolutely fantastic. We’ve done mission work in all parts of Livingstone, from widow ministry bible studies to VBS style camps in orphanages. It has been truly amazing to see how just loving on a person can change their entire outlook of their week. The main thing I’ve seen from this trip is the awesome power of prayer. Zambian people are extremely friendly, and they are all about community and helping others out. Just taking...
