Running to Him

Life here in Oceanview has been amazing. This past week has been full of learning new things, meeting new people, and just starting to build new relationships. I have learned how it feels to be completely exhausted while feeling so fulfilled. New routines are always hard to launch into but we’ve been treated so well and people here have made it easy to adjust into the culture. This past Friday night we had the opportunity to go to a youth night at the school we have been working at. It was so encouraging to see young people like me passionate about serving God. These youth are part of a boarding program at the school so they are all many hours from home, there families, and familiar life. It was so good to bond with them over our similarities. They put my feelings together when one of them talked about how being a way from family is hard but it gets you out of your comfort zone and that is when you can grow closer to Christ; when He is our refuge and the only one to rely on. In these first couple of weeks that I’ve been away from home I’m already learning more about what it looks like to fully rely on our Father. I’ve realized how much of a stronger relationship I can build when He is the one that I go to when I need to be comforted; when He is the one I go to when I need someone to talk to that truly understands me; and that He is the one I go to when I need to be held. I feel like this last week has been a good wake up call for me. I need to truly find Him in every circumstance, whether good or bad, and run into His arms.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” Ps. 73:26
You can pray for mental and physical strength for our team, playing with children all day can be exhausting. Thanks for your continued support.
