The Day I Met My Friend Jordan

I start every morning and end every day praising God. I never had done that before, but when I truly think about it, I should be praising Him continuously. He is the reason air escapes my lungs, the reason for the endless rain hitting the metal roof of our concrete Zambian home, the reason for the laughs of children through the chain-linked fence, or the way my teams’ faces light up when they can tell another being about the love of Jesus, and what He did for us.   As I awoke this morning, I escaped my mosquito net and took a deep breath. By grace through faith

It’s been a wild week for sure. Between teaching English in the mornings to the high schoolers and teaching English in the evenings to the elementary aged kids life has been busy. But thankfully not to crazy. Last week our team had the opportunity to minister to the local law enforcement and go to the public hospital to pray over those in it. Our host told us to pray over anyone we felt God was guiding us to. In all honesty, I didn’t have any expectation as far as what the hospital would look like. But I do know I saw far more poverty than I imagined seeing. My heart is still...

Culture Shock

Cultures are different. Crossing states, crossing borders, or crossing oceans… you’re always going to witness the locals doing something that is slightly — or majorly — different from what you’re used to.
