Update!!!!!! First Impressions!!!!!!!

Update!!!!!! First Impressions!!!!! Hi family, friends & strangers! If you hadn’t heard I left on January 25th to AIM (Adventures in Missions) in Gainesville, Georgia for a 3 day mini training camp. I decided against my backpack and settled on a suitcase because, well, I’m still working on minimalism. On Monday we packed all of our things and went to the Atlanta International Airport. straight outta missouri

today marks my twelfth day in hyderabad, where every piece of life is different from what i know.  it’s hard to put in words what this first 13.5% of my time in asia has been… and harder still to know what it all means. we started this trip with three days of training back in the u.s. and three days of training here in india.  i’m still amazed at how quickly the words i’d read in textbooks and the sights i’d seen in still photos became real people, real practices, real smells. this place is filled with so many more humans and scents and walks of life...

I smell the sweet scent of rain, thanking...

By grace through faith

It’s been a wild week for sure. Between teaching English in the mornings to the high schoolers and teaching English in the evenings to the elementary aged kids life has been busy. But thankfully not to crazy. Last week our team had the opportunity to minister to the local law enforcement and go to the public hospital to pray over those in it. Our host told us to pray over anyone we felt God was guiding us to. In all honesty, I didn’t have any expectation as far as what the hospital would look like. But I do know I saw far more poverty than I imagined seeing. My heart is still...
