giant update bc i waited too long to blog

Hello from the streets of Kathmandu, Nepal!  I’m here to catch you up on the latest and greatest of the last couple weeks!  My team and I wrapped up our time in India with the absolute rowdiest, most Spirit-filled ministry of our month there.  We painted an entire foster home (houses are HUGE in that neighborhood, so it was definitely a medium-to-big deal).  We took a whole home of foster girls to the park one last time.  And, after about five insane turns of events, we rode an overnight bus to the EAST COAST OF INDIA!  The time we spent in that small...

13 days in moments

So far Botswana has flown by to me. It is unreal that we have already been here for 13 days. These 13 days have been all over the place and pretty ‘uneventful’ in the sense of events. But if I look at these 13 days in moments they are oh so powerful. I have learned more about myself and more about God’s never failing, never ending, reckless love for me. Since my first time in church I have always thought that speaking in church would be very cool, but also believed that was not for me and I was not capable of that. However, I have learned that I have a voice, through the...

The Sound of Heaven Touching Earth

It’s the sound of sixty kids yelling and dancing cause there’s no party like a Holy Ghost party cause the Holy Ghost party don’t stop! It’s the sound of the Church Clap blaring through a grocery store parking lot as 13 girls dance it out for the Lord with passerbys wondering what they are on. Just overdosing on the Holy Spirit is all. It’s the sound of the worship song I don’t know in a language I really don’t know, but for some reason I know that the way the rhythm fills me with joy and the singer on stage is dancing that this is Heaven’s...

Little Hands Folded

I have finally made it to Guatemala City for my last two months of ministry! My first month in Chichicastenango was a wild ride! I fell in love with that beautiful city! Being able to see the smiling faces of the children I taught english too every single day made sleeping on the floor, getting bitten by sand flees, and having a freezing shower worth it! My time there can not be summed up in words! Reflecting on everything I saw, heard and did. I know God is moving through that city. Hearing children praying with their little hands folded and eyes shut, knowing this is probably the first...

The Adventure of Travel Days

I want to explain the past couple days. I am having trouble figuring out where to start. What a whirlwind. On Wednesday we left to head to Botswana. Our original destination in Botswana was Seronga. However the only road in and out of our ministry location was swept away by all of the rain. As Beth would say, “I feel like things just stop phasing me.” So we left Wednesday morning for Maun, Botswana. The most God loving man, Sanderson, volunteered his entire day to help us get there. He picked us up from our hostel and drove all 13 of us and all of our luggage to the border. We...
