We have safely arrived on Ometepe island!! We landed in Managua on Monday evening and stayed the night in the city. A couple of vans arrived bright and early to take us to the port where we would catch the ferry to Ometepe.

The island! It’s so beautiful and everything is so green!
When we arrived at CICRIN we were met with many sweet faces ready to play! After lunch we were given time to rest and to enjoy the grounds, which over look the lake! It was it raining so we missed the sunset but were told that every evening the sky is painted with a beautiful show.
Today we had our first day of ministry!! There are many jobs to do to keep all of us busy. We’re helping out in the preschool class and in the cafeteria, in the garden, kitchen and around the grounds. There’s also a group that gets to go out and do prayer walks. This morning’s group were welcomed in to the home of sweet woman who shared a bit of her life with them as well as some watermelon. Each day in the afternoon before dinner, we’re in charge of planning activities for all the kids here at CICRIN. Some days we’ll play soccer and other days we’ll do crafts.
We already love the kids and are all trying to learn more Spanish! Day one has been great and we cannot wait to see what the Lord has planned for our time here.
