Thoughts on Re-Entry

This season is coming to an end until I must enter into the ‘real’ world. It’s true that time waits for no man.      I will soon be amongst people who have known me for my entire life. The people who have seen me cry, laugh for joy, and all the pain of growing up. They saw the formation of the beginning of my life. The creation of my values, beliefs, and skills.      I will soon leave the people who have known me for the past 3 months. They have seen me triumph and fail, grow and recede, through humor and gloom. They have seen...

The Secret Place

My hands are calloused from my new best friend — a trusty, old-fashioned hoe. I spend 90% of my week covered in mud, dirt, and other treasures of the earth. It’s ironic that I was placed...

2/3 Done and a Weekend of Experiences

So the days have been flying by, faster then I can count them. Quicker then I can comprehend, the time is passing. There are many ways I could say that I have 1 month left and that manual labor is going well.      Our team got to go to Chiang Mai for a long weekend to rejuvenate since our host was on a birthday vacation with her family. I went with the team to sticky falls, grand canyon water park, got to take a Thai cooking class, and got a blind massage with my team leader. There was also a World Race team there that invited us to their worship night. Zion...

How Deep the Father’s Love

Humans struggle so often with feelings of discontentment.  We search desperately for fulfillment, for joy, for light.  We delve into the darkest parts of our souls trying to find purpose and meaning.  We lose ourselves in our efforts to find ourselves and spiral out of control as we try to hold everything together. But God calls us to something higher.  He calls us to pursue Him and to rest in Him.  He calls us to seek Him in the high places and in the low places.  He calls us to be aware of who we are in Him and of the truth He declares over us.  He calls...
