Leaving

A fantastic rotating of the earth to all of you earthlings! (I was feeling spacey today)      I left Cambodia with a full heart and list of things the team accomplished. We were able, through God’s provision, to get bikes for the kids going into 10th grade this November (it’s at a different school farther away then the rest of the kids), finish the space mural, and dig up an old playground set that needed to be gone (in involved a LOT of smashing concrete with a sledge hammer).     On our last night, we held a goodbye bonfire with all the kids. We’re planning a game day, scavenger hunt, and bonfire to finish out our week here mixed in with some last few English classes.     This last week, however, we had some good fun as well. We took almost all the kids to a local stream for an outing, to get them out...

Unrestrained Joy

This past week has held an overwhelming amount of JOY.  I am in awe of how well Jesus is captivating my heart and arresting my soul through this breathtaking country. If you know me at all, you know that I appreciate structure–I love knowing what’s coming next and what to expect. Schedules become crutches I lean on heavily in order to feel safe and comfortable.  Back at home I would sometimes just say “no” to tentative plans with friends because the idea of leaving my house without knowing exactly what I was going to end up doing was such a frightening concept. ...
