Letting Go

How quickly the last 3 weeks have flown by. It is hard to believe that my team and I arrived in Livingstone exactly 21 days ago! This past week our ministry was specifically focused on discipleship and evangelism in the surrounding community of Livingstone. We went out in groups of 2 or 3 and went out into the city meeting new people and talking to them about the Gospel, or meeting with people we had already met and continuing to grow those relationships. On Wednesday one of my squadmates and I met with a man from a market in downtown Livingstone named John. After we talked to John for a few...

Living Water

This past week was an experience. Our team went to a Zambian village named Mapena about 45 minutes away from our host city of Livingstone. We had the opportunity to spend 4 days and nights within the village next to a local community school. During our time in the village we had ministry opportunities such as: teaching youth ages 12-18 what the Bible says about sex (yes, that was a first), painting the exterior of one of the school buildings, playing soccer, volleyball, and netball with the youth, walking through and praying for the village, and sitting down and having conversations with the...

Joy is a Choice

My team and I have been in Zambia for just over one week! We arrived last Sunday afternoon and are living in the city of Livingstone. Our hosts for this month are three godly men named Ken, Roderick, and Bright who run the organization named Africa 4 Jesus. A4J is focused on reaching the community of Livingstone and specifically geared towards the youth (ages 18-35) of the city. Throughout this week we had the opportunity to spend time in the community just walking the streets, seeing the city, and speaking to whomever the Holy Spirit leads. One of my teammates, Marisa, and I specifically connected...

Saying Yes

Today is the day that my team and I leave for Zambia! The past 3 days we had the opportunity to go through a training camp where we met our team, worshiped our Heavenly Father, and went through training sessions. Being honest, I had arrived in Atlanta on Monday ready to go to Zambia right away and was a bit disappointed we had to spend a few more days in Georgia before we left. But looking back now, I can see that training camp was essential for this month long journey. Even in the last three days, God has shown me so much more of who He is, who I am, and what His plan is for my life. The number...
