Better then “Getting through it”

When we found out that our new ministry included working with kids, I was thrilled. Children are my heart and despite meeting some really sweet children here I was desperately missing my kids back home so working with preschoolers sounded amazing. Teaching has never been my passion, but I had worked at preschool levels and enjoyed it so with images of being hugged by smiling children and reading Bible stories in my head my hopes were high. Stepping into the school was different then the idealistic picture in my head to say the least. Because of recently losing three teachers, preschool and kindergarten...

Pieces of Stories

Sitting on the beach writing this blog I am overcome with the beauty of this place, but I am also reminded of something my friend said a few weeks ago as we watched the sunrise over the beach and praised the one who created it: “The people here have no idea who to praise for this beauty”. This was relational ministry, our whole purpose...

Being Interruptable and the “M-Word”

The M-Word and The Story So Far (1/29/17) This blog will just be a brief introduction of our journey so far! To start out here is a picture of our team (names from right to left: Hailey, Amber, Shannon, Me, Tori, Halle)     Being interruptible is something Hailey, our leader, prayed over our team before we even met. That we would be open to whatever happens even when we don’t know why and that we would trust God’s plan and walk in that. When you pray for something, sometimes it doesn’t take long before the Father gives you what you asked for and that’s what...

Vietnam has safely arrived at their Ministry site!

From this moment forward, these women will forever be able to say, “back in ‘nam”. They are safe after a 4-day trek from Atlanta to Da Nang, and have already tasted the traditional pho cuisine and celebrated the Vietnamese Lunar Festival! These ladies are excited to be in their new home and get started with ministry, teaching English, and becoming a part of the sweet community.
