The game of volleyball! ??

Being in India for about two weeks I’ve come to enjoy the game of volleyball . The team and I go every day to the hostel and play with the college students! They are mainly guys and our team is mainly girls, so playing together is quite hilarious/difficult to watch. The Indian guys will split up and the American girls will also pick a side, then we will play about 6 games. Learning to play with everyone and the skills that are available was difficult. The guys had to play at the girls level and it got frustrating at times but they kept playing! And then the girls had to get over...

Strangers in the House…

We are in the “Hills” of Manipur… ( the mountains ) and I want to point out that the schools are wonderful! In their own kind of beautifulness. The school that we are staying at has prep kindergarten- tenth grade. And only one class per grade! It’s completely amazing to witness. The upper classes have a range of students from 30-50, and they don’t change rooms!!!! Because this school started with a prep class the kids in the village can go here. They don’t have to move away to go to a particular grade. By saying this, when they get to the 10th grade they either...

What does it matter if not gaining intimacy with God!

Team 1dentity has finished up their second week in India. We have prayed for people in the hospital, done VBS for children, played volleyball with the Bible college students, done devotionals with the same students, participated in sports day, and even worshipped in a school talent show. As a team we have tapped into vulnerability; discussed the highs, lows, and Jesus moments of our day; practiced hearing God’s voice; spent time giving edifying and encouraging feedback; broadened our relationships with God through creative worship;...

The Waves

This past week was our second full week of ministry here in India. We are spending our first two and a half weeks in India in a small village called Sielmat. While we are here, we are staying in a seminary. When we first arrived, the dean requested that we take two of the daily morning devotions during the two and a half weeks that we are staying here. That includes providing the worship and message for those mornings. The first morning that we were responsible for was late last week. One of my teammates picked the song ‘Oceans’ for us to sing. That morning, as we were running through...
