Telling Untold Stories

I want to introduce you to a friend of mine. For the sake of this blog, I’ll call her Zoey. This girl is amazing. She is a tenth grader living at Lungthulien high school where I met her. I got to spend the last 3 weeks getting to know her and fellowshipping with her. Zoey has one of the most joyful, genuine smiles I have ever seen. She is an incredibly loving, talkative person, and she likes to sing. Her favorite subject in school is biology, and she has a passion for helping others, so she wants to be a nurse some day.            Even...

Off to “the Hills”

Our ministry host informed us about our second ministry location. We were warned that the climate and weather was different than what we had been experiencing. I was specifically warned that this location would take the team out of their comfort zone. A lot of the conveniences they were used to would not be available in the location we were going. Things would not be the same… On September 25, 2017, our bags packed, we packed two 5 passenger off roading vehicles with 12 passengers and 2 drivers totaling 14 people in addition to live chickens and supplies for us to live off for the next...

Turn and Look at my Creation

Travel day to the next part of our journey was interesting. We traveled in two trucks. One with our stuff and half of the team and one with food and live chickens and the other half of the team. It took almost all day to get to the next place. What in the world to do on this journey than look at His beauty?! The trees, the mountains, the sky, the people of each passing village, the animals and the flowers! I say all of that because I want you to know that I saw many things. Things that I can’t describe! But the one thing I want to describe is the flowers! I can’t even begin to tell...

Strangers in the House…

We are in the “Hills” of Manipur… ( the mountains ) and I want to point out that the schools are wonderful! In their own kind of beautifulness. The school that we are staying at has prep kindergarten- tenth grade. And only one class per grade! It’s completely amazing to witness. The upper classes have a range of students from 30-50, and they don’t change rooms!!!! Because this school started with a prep class the kids in the village can go here. They don’t have to move away to go to a particular grade. By saying this, when they get to the 10th grade they either...

The game of volleyball! ??

Being in India for about two weeks I’ve come to enjoy the game of volleyball . The team and I go every day to the hostel and play with the college students! They are mainly guys and our team is mainly girls, so playing together is quite hilarious/difficult to watch. The Indian guys will split up and the American girls will also pick a side, then we will play about 6 games. Learning to play with everyone and the skills that are available was difficult. The guys had to play at the girls level and it got frustrating at times but they kept playing! And then the girls had to get over...
