POEM: I Have a Demon Named Miss Grumpy Pants…

I know when she is coming to the surface, but in war with my flesh I don’t stop her because in some ways I like the way she handles the situation. Or maybe its not the way she handles this situation and instead the results she gets. When she “handles” a situation many times she hurts people and at the bare minimum she scares people. She gets what she “wants”, but that is not right because she gets things that she doesn’t want either. She doesn’t want to scare or hurt people… if I understand her correctly. The truth is she wants to protect something… And...

Thank you Dad

Dad do you remember when I was little and you made us (my brother and I) read the book of Daniel out loud? Well I do! I remember that you would describe everything to us. And our favorite story was about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Well I decided to read the whole book of Daniel while I was in the hills of India. I told myself that I would read one chapter a day and meditate on it for that day. Once I actually sat down to read it, the words took me back to the nights where you would take the time to show us Gods word. I loved it! I didn’t want to stop reading the chapters. I loved...

The travel day poops…

Starting the travel day off ?around 6:30am? was pretty easy. We had breakfast, grilled cheese and potatoes with a side of milk tea, and said our goodbyes. Someone asked me to commentate the ride so I stood up the entire time to make sure I saw something that I could comment on. It was honestly one of the funniest things I’ve ever done; I loved it. We got to the river and I realized that I had to go to the bathroom. Other girls did too so we put...

Telling Untold Stories

I want to introduce you to a friend of mine. For the sake of this blog, I’ll call her Zoey. This girl is amazing. She is a tenth grader living at Lungthulien high school where I met her. I got to spend the last 3 weeks getting to know her and fellowshipping with her. Zoey has one of the most joyful, genuine smiles I have ever seen. She is an incredibly loving, talkative person, and she likes to sing. Her favorite subject in school is biology, and she has a passion for helping others, so she wants to be a nurse some day.            Even...
