India Reflection
So this week is our last week in India. This Friday we fly off to the next leg of our trip; Nepal. Ministry has been crazy beautiful here, and I’m so glad to have come to this brilliant part of the world. For the past five weeks we’ve been working in orphanages for disabled and special needs kids.
The first half of our time in India was spent in the big city of Hyderabad, with my time split between two houses. In the mornings I’d help teach preschool to 2-5 year old boys and girls, and in the afternoon I’d be working with girls aged 8-26 playing mostly ball games, but also just bonding and having genuine friendships as well.
God has already taught me so much about the world and myself this past month and a half, and I’m so excited for this to continue. Leading up to this trip my personal devotion time sucked, but as time went on, he’s lead me to be reading His word every night.
He’s taught me so much about Christ-centered friendships, and giving constructive criticism to your peers as well. He’s also broken my heart for India. I’m going to miss this place so much, and I just know that He will call me back soon enough.
He’s proven my doubts wrong by teaching me about my spiritual gifting, and giving me opportunities to use these gifts in the form of preaching to my team and also speaking in front of a church. He’s reinforced my identity in Him, and given me ways of chocking out social anxieties, and shown me ways of dealing with my Depression.
So glory, glory to Him for his work in me, and thanks to Him for also showing me all the areas in my life that still need to be surrendered to Him, the areas I constantly fall short in, so that He may work on those as well, and continue to show me the beauty of His grace.
