Hello from Costa Rica! This is Jake, one of the leaders for this great group of world changers! As Shadrach already said, our team has made it safely to our home for the month in San Pedro. We arrived at ZOE Ministries late in the night, accompanied by Margaret, our point person for ministry, and Randy, a church member and translator. We were given a delicious meal when we got to where we are staying before promptly going to bed.
Already, we’ve hit the ground running with ministry. Marina, my co-leader, and myself woke up early to get breakfast food for the team. Not having the key to unlock the gate at the front of our property, we had to jump the fence in order to get out and back in. At 9:00, we split into teams, where some helped to clean a nursing home, some cleared a brush pile at a home for young boys at risk, and others visited a school where they will have the opportunity to teach. It appears that we will be able to stay busy during our time here!
Please be in prayer for all of us, that God will send divine appointments our way, that He will give us strength, energy, and an eagerness to serve the people here, and that we will grow together in community to love each other. Stay tuned in for more updates, and thank you for your support!
