Canteloupe

In late spring, I decided that I wanted to start a garden, so I got a bunch of seeds, cups, and dirt and did just that. I spent weeks watering and tending my plants until they were big enough to go outside. My parents sectioned off areas in our backyard for certain fruits and vegetables that we decided to grow. Then I spent more weeks watering and doing my best to protect them from the elements. Before I left for this trip I was able to reap some of the vegetables I planted. I was able to try tomatoes; zucchini , peppers, squash, and more. But there were a couple things that I wanted to try but weren’t quite ready yet. A couple days ago I got a notification from my mom that the canteloupe I had planted was finally ready to eat. I’ll never get a chance to taste it or even see it in person, but I know that all the work I did paid off and allowed someone else to enjoy the fruits of my labor. That’s how I feel when it comes to working with Outpour Movement , I love that my team and I have been able to partner up with them and help lessen their load. Since they are here long term, helping them with whatever they need will allow them to have a bigger impact in the community. They’ve created relationships and bonds over years that my team and I would not be able to build with the locals in just 2 weeks. It’s awesome knowing that I’ve been able to be a small part in the movement. If I get to come back one day that would be great , but I may never get to experience or see what happens with Outpour in the future, that doesn’t change the fact that God used my team to help them, even if it was for a short period. There’s a time and a season for everything… there are people who plant and water, but the growth is because of God.

“Please allow me to expose to you from the onset, from the very beginning, if you are doing this thing for applause or accolades then you are in it for the wrong reason. Why? Because the bible clearly states that all glory, all honor, does not belong to us, it all belongs to Jesus Christ. So when you enter in this thing be sure that you know, that you understand, and that you are okay with knowing that all the work may be done by you but all the praise and thank you’s belong to Him. ” -Misfit // Chris Durso

“What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. 6 I planted the seed,Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 8 The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. 9 For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building. “-1 Corinthians 3:5-9
