A Love That Knocked Me Off My Feet

I literally fell down. After saying goodbye about five times and inching towards the door, one of my preschool students ran up to hug me. I was trying to leave, but one blink later a stampede of kids swarmed around and embraced me tightly. They squeezed me so tight that my knees eventually buckled. All of the kids continued to hug me as I was lying on the floor and wouldn’t let me up. They were relentless and simply didn’t want me to leave. Sometime in-between regaining my strength to get up and saying my final goodbye, I began to see that the love these kids have for me is a...

Consider it all joy

At the beginning of my trip when we were still at training camp, our leaders had us spend some time alone in prayer to ask God what He wanted us to learn or get out of trips. The Heart

The heart is one if not the strongest muscles in your body. It is what keeps you alive along with many other organs, but the heart is special. It pumps blood all throughout your body. The heart is an amazing thing. It is also what allows you to have feelings. Like when you go on your first date. Your heart is full of so much happiness, or when you score the winning goal at a game. Your heart is filled with joy. The heart is truly a beautiful thing God has given us. God is the one who fills our hearts with joy, happiness, truth, laughter, and so much more. He gives you the little things in...

Weeks before and now

The weeks leading to training camp were both exciting and not. Some days I would be so stoked that I would want to go ASAP but other days I would rather just crawl into bed and pretend it was already August. I was nervous meeting everyone in person and seeing how they would react to the trip too. The Saturday before my dad, brother and I started the drive and during that time I wasn’t really excited or nervous, just numb. I didn’t know if this was really the plan for me to go across the world or if it was me ignoring God’s plan. When arriving to training camp I was so...
