20 Minutes of Jesus

For the past week, we’ve been teaching English. Every other day, it’s a new school with new faces. And we have two days. So for two days, we do all we can to start building a simple foundation. We start with a song, then we get into a whole chair situation that I’m not going to try to explain. At some point we start adding in verbs, emotions, sometimes tenses. We go through the months of the year, the days of the week, simple conversation pieces. When there’s nothing else, the Cupid Shuffle takes a turn. We spend two days singing, dancing, and explaining. Where He Brought Me

“Pay attention.”“To what?”“To your life.Push a little deeper. Run a little faster. Dance a little longer. Laugh a little louder.Get the freak out of your comfort zone because out in the waves, that’s where life happens. That’s where I’m going to do the stuff you can’t imagine right now but I can’t do a thing until you’re out there so let’s go.”Out in the waters, this is where He brought me.This is my life. It’s little girls blowing kisses. We got to share the gospel of Jesus with around 50 children and a few adults. In a district of Thailand with over a million people and less than a thousand Christians, the truth was proclaimed. It was one of those joyous, perfect moments that you wouldn’t trade anything for.   That little...

Broken Pieces

“Todo, I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore.” Or in this case, India. We have been in Chaiyaphum, Thailand for 10 days. And just like India, Thailand has its way of amazing me. To the night markets that are in the middle of the week, to random dancing festivals in rice patties, to elephants meeting you at the gate of your house, to fitting ten people in the bed of a truck for more than an hour’s drive, even in the rain.   The first night we rolled up onto the dirt driveway, we got out of the car just enough to stretch and then headed straight for the...
