Waiting on the Lord

The course of this trip has been somewhat of a roller coaster. Going from total joy and excitement to the lows of wishing I could be back home but one theme has been constant throughout the entire trip, listening and obeying the Lord and finding patience through that. I came on this trip with a lot of expectations that in all honesty have not been met and I now know probably won’t be by the time this trip comes to an end. I have found out that my plan and God’s plan were not the same. Because of this over the past 2-3 weeks my journal pages have been plagued by many questions....

Feedback?

You know what’s really difficult? Constructive feedback. That stuff can be UNCOMFORTABLE. For all my wonderful AIMians, you know exactly what I am talking about. For my lovely friends tuning in from your cars, workplace, and other places you do the phone thing but probably shouldn’t (squatties and such), here’s a quick little summary of what feedback is: Positive feedback is calling out the greatness and Godliness your teammates see in you. (It’s all warm and fuzzy!)Constructive feedback is Godliness that your teammates may see in you but would like to see more of...

Zambia, you’re stealing my heart…

“Live a lovers’ life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.” -Philippians 1:10-11 Zambia is constantly reminding me about how amazing and heartbreaking this world is. Making mountains of Ant Hills

As humans,  we find ourselves often drifting through the motions without even considering all that is passing by. Sure, we will blame it on our culture and the fast,  endless reality we are trapped in,  but I think there is a time at which it becomes our responsibility to swim upstream. A time when we need to slow the traffic, take a moment, and Wade in this pool the Lord has thrown us into. I see myself rushing not only through the day,  but through a lot of areas in my life. Through quality time,  through relationships,  and even through the Word of God....

God’s Not Done

Over the past two weeks since this trip began we have seen amazing things happen. Our team has grown closer together. We have been vulnerable together. We have shared life stories together. We have seen the Lord tear down walls in each other and seen the spiritual growth occurring in everyone. We have ministered to widows, youth and children. We have prayed together and built walkways together. We have jumped off bridges together and walked the Victoria falls together. Friendships have been formed that will last a lifetime. We have been taught new skills. Patience have been tested. The Lord...
