The way of Faithfulness

Re-entry has been nothing like what I expected.  Leaving India, I expected to come home on fire for the LORD.  I figured I would be able to easily put into practice all I had learned in India.  I thought I would continue growing in my faith and learning at the same rate I had while in India.   Shortly after getting home, I was struggling to get through my personal quiet time.  I caught myself praying “God, I don’t understand the distance I feel from you.  Since coming home from India, you feel so far away.”  Then, even as I prayed, I...

The Muzungu Chronicles: Chapter 1 “From A to Z”

We reached the end of the line. The furthest distance we could travel together before we were separated by the long weaving line of airport security. Mongolia Recap

Sometimes words simply don’t do experiences justice. Mongolia is one of those instances where words and pictures felt like they would fail to encapsulate the beautiful, life-changing month my team spent there. I watched team members grow into themselves, I witnessed atheists accompany us to church, and climbed mountains in and surrounding the Gobi Desert. I felt my soul fall deeper in love with God’s kingdom and came back home alive, awake, and ready to continue living according to His plans for my life. All in all, this month was spiritually packed and in attempt to better...

It’s not over yet.

“How are you?” seems to be the number one question asked ever since I came home from my time in Albania. I usually answer with the proper phrase that Albanians who spoke English were taught to say: “I’m fine, thanks.” Honesty time: I’m not fine. I’m broken and sad. I miss my team. I miss the relationships I cultivated while on the field. I miss the ignorance and apathy I used to be able to live in comfortably (yeah, I know that that’s not the best thing to miss). I feel like I have just gone through a breakup or lost a close friend (I might be...
