Well, I’m here

Finally. After months of impatience, eagerness and a little bit of FOMO, I am here. Well, kind of. Presently, I am writing from the small yet comfortable church where my team sleeps at the orphanage. 13 sweaty people sleeping in one room brings many challenges, but I’d say it brings more blessings. Because of it, we’ve bonded quicker, our sleeping habits (snoring, sleep talking, the usual) have quickly become normal and most of all, we are all on the same-sleep level. We all know the feels of the rooster roosting at 3 am, the kids laughing at 5 am, the iconic sounds of ducks...

A New Wick

Jacó has been so sweet to us. My team and I are growing so much together. Through worship, prayer, and obedience. God is bringing to us new waters to walk across and new journeys to embark. One new journey for me has consisted of my twentieth year. Yesterday was that “fresh start” that I had been waiting for. A new decade that began with an overflow of love and joy, doing what I love the most. I learned new things, like surfing and that our new friend Mel makes a bomb pineapple cake, while Carly’s impeccable amount of talent can flow through a simple birthday card...

Being Interruptable and the “M-Word”

The M-Word and The Story So Far (1/29/17) This blog will just be a brief introduction of our journey so far! Every Reason To Cry

After over 80 hours of travel… here we are, in Kampong Cham, Cambodia. When we pulled up to the orphanage that we’re staying in, I looked out of the window of our van and saw eager and excited children awaiting our arrival. I was a little bit taken back because of the exhaustion that totally overwhelmed my body, so we ate some dinner and went to bed. The next morning, my team and I went down for breakfast and afterwards we saw the sweetest kids playing on the patio. As a little time passed, more kids began showing up. They welcomed us, laughed with us, tried teaching us...
