From Dirt To Gardens

“Allow Me to pour into you and from your gardens, I will flow.” When I first came to Jacó, I remember the Lord speaking this truth into me so clearly. For twenty years, the Lord has poured into this garden of mine in a multitude of ways. I began as a land of dirt: Anyone would look upon my soil and see hopelessness as a result of my sin. But know that God pursues our dirt-stained hearts and transforms them. He cleanses us with a heavenly rain and makes us new. All because He saw in us what the world had not. Each species of flowers is a result of different seeds planted by...

A Life in the Spirit

Have you ever started out a day really terribly but then ended on the highest note possible? That was my day on February 11th. The past couple of days before this Saturday were kinda hard for me. For some reason I was believing the lies that satan was telling me. Lies like “you don’t deserve to be here”, “you’re hurting people’s feelings because of your personality”, and “you should just go home because you’re not good enough and people don’t like you”. The way satan attacks me is he likes to get in my head because he knows I...

“Who me? Really?”

“Sin City? What possessed you to want to stay there?” Jacó, Costa Rica boasts a range of intimidatingly natural beauty by day. The exotic flowers in bold red and orange hues. Often if we mention our new hometown, others respond with a look of confusion, wondering why we are staying...

A New Wick

Jacó has been so sweet to us. My team and I are growing so much together. Through worship, prayer, and obedience. God is bringing to us new waters to walk across and new journeys to embark. One new journey for me has consisted of my twentieth year. Yesterday was that “fresh start” that I had been waiting for. A new decade that began with an overflow of love and joy, doing what I love the most. I learned new things, like surfing and that our new friend Mel makes a bomb pineapple cake, while Carly’s impeccable amount of talent can flow through a simple birthday card and...

Acclimating Forward

Hola de Costa Rica! Chris here.  I am so excited to be posting my first ever Passport blog!  As you may have already heard, we have safely arrived here in Jaco, Costa Rica.  Myself and Sarah are the co-leaders of the Costa Rica team, and we have been blown-away by everyone’s willingness to experience all that the Lord has for them in this new season of life here in CR. We are living and serving with Ocean’s Edge here in Jaco.  Our ministry so far has been cleaning up much of the property we are staying at, and helping organize various rooms that include a tool...
