Climbing the Mountain

Well, I have finally made it to Capetown, South Africa. After many hours of sitting and sleeping in both airports and airplanes I’m glad we are here. This past weekend we had the training for this trip. Training was a whirlwind of emotions. It included many moments of fear, but also many moments of excitement. It was also a time of surrendering this trip to my Father. To be honest these next three months can look like a mountain to me, but I have decided that I’m willing to climb it with my hands wide open. I’m truly willing to be open to whatever my God has for me here in Capetown. It’s not about me getting my way and me being comfortable. Once I realized that a lot of my fears left me, because all I have to do now is keep my hands wide open and let God lead me into his will. Today I am glad I can say that I’m ready to let my Father get all the glory for whatever He has for me and my team here in Capetown.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
??Proverbs? ?3:5-6? ?ESV??
I find these familiar verses so powerful. All we have to do is trust and lean into our Heavenly Father and He will take care of the rest, and for that I’m so thankful.
I’m sure the next couple of days will be packed full of excitement as we learn more about what we will be doing and get into our routine here, so you can pray for smooth adjustments. I am going to try to blog somewhat regularly so you can hear about what our God is doing here and in my own life. I appreciate all your love, prayers and support.
