Hey!
So, tomorrow is the day I fly off to the USA for my training camp in Atlanta. It’s odd to think that all this is happening so soon, it’s been a long six months of preparation and fundraising, but now it’s finally about to happen. In July of 2015 I decided to google “Christian Mission Trips” and Adventures in Missions was the first organization to pop up. I searched through the website and found that they were offering a three month trip to India and Nepal, which would cost a total of $6,344 USD which in AUD is around $9000, (Plus another $200 I’d have to save for travel to the us for training camp.) I ended up emailing the organization asking about possible subsidizing, telling them that in total I’d need around $11,000 AUD for the trip, and that I wasn’t sure if that was humanly possible in six months, and they responded with “God is Bigger.”
So after some more prayer and consideration I decided that I’d commit to this, I dropped out of TAFE to get a job to save the $2,000 for the travel to the USA and I began fundraising. Generosity rose out from those around me, with some people committing as monthly donors, others doing once off donations, a couple of people doing anonymous donations, and groups of people holding fundraisers for me. By December 24th of 2015, 102% of the $6,344 USD was raised. This all happened because of an amazing, living God that has blessed me in ultimate ways throughout these past years of my journey with him.
