MEET THE TEAM!!!
If you know me at all you can tell just by this picture how perfectly I fit in with them? We have already had an amazing time together, just getting to know each other.
SO, let me tell ya ’bout a few incredible couple of days that I’ve just had here at training camp! I have been here in Gainesville, GA at the AIM (Adventures in Missions) headquarters since last Thursday January 21st. I’ve been getting to know my team so well in the short amount of time that I have known them, I am so grateful for the amount of vulnerability already shown through them in the last couple of days. On the first day I prayed for a group of very REAL individuals to go on this trip with and i don’t think any of them really hesitated to be that way. I am so so thankful for that!
To be honest my first day here, Friday, I was not mentally here at all, I was struggling hard. I was in this daze and kept questioning why I was even here. I was struggling with what I had to offer to this team, what my role was, how was I supposed to be an asset to this incredible group of people that I had just met. So time went on and we came down Saturday morning, had breakfast and went into our session. The talk was about Identity, he talked about all the different masks that we wear, that the enemy gives us that we listen to. I wish i could tell you everything that he said, but at the end of his session he asked us to individually go and pray by ourselves and write down anything that was a mask or really anything that came to mind. So you know what came to my mind? “Why are you even here?”
WHY ARE YOU HERE SATAN?
The Lord showed up pretty quickly. You better believe I wrote those words down, maybe I can show you one day! Romans 8:18 is one of my most favorite verses of scripture, always has been, it’s something to live by; if you don’t know it I’d encourage you to go look it up and completely take it in and live by it. It helped me a lot in this short moment of time.
Once I was freed from this daze/bondage I was in, it was beautiful. I felt like I was shining, I felt like for the first time I could be myself with these wonderful amazing group of crazy, weird, fun human beings. Saturday was an intense day but all so worth it and it all had a purpose. Today (Sunday) was also a pretty great day, a lot of team bonding and building with each other happened today and I’m excited for these next 3 months to see what God has for me, for my team and for all those people that we will encounter in these countries!
If I had an entire day I could sit here and write and tell you about all the awesome speakers and the talks they shared because I would, they were all so incredible and so uplifting. But I don’t have that kind of time. I will gladly share with you if you want to know more, feel free to ask. I do want to leave you with a bit from our last speaker we had today, his talk was on the Holy Spirit. There are three things that God wants, that the Holy spirit seeks to do, to help with.
Partnership. Companionship. Intimacy (In To Me See).
“Satan knows your name, but calls you by your sins. God knows your sins but calls you by your name, always.”
Thank you for all your prayers and all your support for getting me here, and I know God has amazing things planned for the months to come and I am so excited to share with you guys this journey!
Much Love?
