The Wedding
A ravishing bride with her flower crown
scarlett stained no more but flawless white her gown.
Walking past the battles she’s fought,
but “Am I enough” was her only thought.
All the while,
the groom’s eyes were locked
and His heart has stopped.
When His fiery eyes had seen His dove
He saw her fully, He understood her fully
because she was bought with the price of love.
When the bride and the groom were face to face
He saw the fear of unworthiness on her face.
He lifted her chin, grazing her lace
“Oh beloved” He whispered,
“Because of me, you are covered in grace.”
She met His stare with a glance.
Her body was trembling at His beauty that was so far fetched.
And she noticed His gracious stance,
with His intensity and His hand out stretched.
She believed Him
She trusted Him.
She felt this joy inside that she couldn’t describe.
She knew now that she would thrive, not just survive.
She could not explain it
but the ring was a fit.
“From now on,
I will be with you wherever you go and
never again will you be brought low.
I will protect you,
I will love you.”
The bride stood in awe of this man.
The bride loved all of this man.
“Your pain will be my pain.
Your joy will be my joy.
Oh my doe, can you see what I mean?
What’s yours is Mine and
what’s Mine is yours.”
The bridegroom rejoiced over His bride.
For she said yes.
She said yes to be romanced by the King.
Yesterday was a day of silence for team India/Thailand.
We were asked two questions:
1. Who does God say I am?
2. Why am I here?
So I really focused on the first question. After building myself a little fort where only Jesus and I were allowed in, I waited on Him to give me words. After an hour or so I had a list but when I read over them I felt like one word wasn’t enough, so I wrote a sentence for each.
Then I got this idea, “Maybe I’ll write a poem.” I’ve only written two other poems and those are secured in my journal at home, not on the internet for whoever to see. So this is a little scary-opening up in such a way. The reason I want to share this is because as I was writing it, I was captured by the romance of it all, how Jesus wants to whoo me into a relationship with Him. I was overtaken at how beautiful it all was; His redeeming His love is for all of us, that even though we are so covered in sin, He sees immeasurably more. He sees His bride! I hope you can see it too.
His bride,
