God is Good All the Time, All The Time God is Good!

Hello Friends!

It’s day 4 in Cambodia with NHO and I’m already so amazed by the non-stop energy that God has bestowed upon these children. I mean, they never get bored of the same four-square game.

I’m currently staked out on what I like to refer to as our porch bungalow that is now infested by ants due to the left-over fruit we had collected from our adventure to the market Vandy (our host) took us to yesterday that is so beautifully referred to as the “spider village”. I know, it was as uncomfortable as it sounds. But even through these arachnid adventures the Lord has truly blessed me and my wonderful team with an amazing opportunity to spread his kingdom and his love through Kampong Cham, Cambodia.

This trip was made to be uncomfortable. We pee in toilets that do not flush, we sleep in rooms which we share with some unwanted roommates. Dont worry, we have given our roach a stern talking to and we have come to an understanding, and heat that already has you feel like you showered with your clothes on by 6 AM.      My most uncomfy-zone rolling into this journey was most definitely the rather intimidating language barrier that was held between me and the kids. I mean, have you seen Khmer? It looks like a bunch of Egyptian hieroglyphs from afar.

I still cannot pronounce Hello correctly after four days of intense practice!

But I found that after a few hours with these kids we already had been learning and having normal conversations between one another whether that was between one word of English or a massive failed attempt at Khmer here or there, we had begun to connect through a rather intense game of “charades” that we have begun to master. God has been truly magnificent, and I have been able to witness his pure love through the way the children laugh over goofy actions, and through the sound of those pesky roosters at 3 AM who I can never seem to sleep through but always greet my tired eyes. God has put such a yearning in my heart to put myself out there to be assisting this place in however they may need no matter how large of a task. English class is a blast, the never ending mountain of rice gets better each time I eat it, and I’ve learned to bucket shower in 10 minutes flat. It’s been an awesome first week, and I cannot wait to see what God has in store for team W.A.T.O. !!!

Stay rad, and be Intentional
