Do you ever have a fear of something that is so great, when you see it, you can’t help but shake in fear? That fear has a power over you that is so great that some might say it consumes you. All you do is think about that fear, you spend your life avoiding that fear but at what cost? What great things out there are you missing because of that fear?
We have been given the challenge to read Proverbs this week. It talks about wisdom and fools. The fools are the ones who think they are wise because they don’t have any fears, but they are wrong. In the first chapter of Proverbs it talks about how only the wise fear God. We must fear God in order to know God. How do you expect to truly know and love God unless you truly fear him? God is the beginning and the beginning was God, so shouldn’t we fear the creator? He gave us life so that we might serve him. He didn’t give us this life to do as we please. Some people will argue this and say, “what about free will?” Yes, God gave us free will, but with power you must have wisdom, and wisdom without fear is foolish. So are you a fool or are you wise?
