Heal the Heartbreak

“When there is no struggle, there is no strength” The past few weeks have left me with wounds so raw they hurt to the touch. I have had to make choices that broke my heart and broke the heart of someone I love. But the healing I have seen through that has opened my eyes to how leaving something great can lead to something even greater. Five months ago, I met an amazing guy who I connected with in a way I never had with anyone before. He brought me the purest joy through endless adventures and countless puppy pictures. I was so blessed to call him my best friend and boyfriend for...

Preparing for Greatness

Sweet Tea with a side of Holy Spirit – tales of Georgia It’s safe to say that an exciting adventure always starts in Atlanta. After approximately 20 hours of flights & netflix-filled layovers, my feet touched down in Atlanta, Georgia for the second time in my life. The last time I had landed there, I flew to Guatemala not too soon afterwards with a group of beautiful strangers who I was blessed to serve with for the most life-changing two weeks of my life. Knowing I would be equally blessed this trip, I hopped on the airport train with childlike enthusiasm. Not too long...

There Will Be Time

You hear it said all the time how going on a mission trip changes a person forever. How the kids in whatever country have stolen a persons heart and opened their eyes to so much beauty. Choosing Joy

All of my life I have grown up privileged- everything I have ever needed and wanted has always been at my fingertips. For the first time in my life I am now without a bed, Wi-Fi, good tasting food, a real shower and my mom. Culture shock is a real thing people. I have been living at New Hope for Orphans for just over two weeks now; it is located in Banteay Meanchey, Cambodia- aka the middle of nowhere. The nearest city is almost three hours away, which means besides the occasional ice cream trip and our two adventure days, my team and I are always at the orphanage. First...
