“Pay attention.”
“To what?”
“To your life.
Push a little deeper. Run a little faster. Dance a little longer. Laugh a little louder.
Get the freak out of your comfort zone because out in the waves, that’s where life happens. That’s where I’m going to do the stuff you can’t imagine right now but I can’t do a thing until you’re out there so let’s go.”
Out in the waters, this is where He brought me.
This is my life.
It’s little girls blowing kisses. It’s dancing silly with no boundaries, just for a laugh. It’s smiles on smiles. It’s weird culture shocks and it’s spicy. It’s colorful and it’s interesting and it’s funky. It’s local transportation, praying your driver understood the destination despite a language barrier. It’s dirty clothes and hard mattresses and bucket showers. It is singing and singing and singing. It’s street food and markets and chop sticks and truck beds. It’s hugs and giggles because everyone speaks that language. It’s never having a schedule. It’s the Cupid Shuffle. It’s races down the streets and it’s kids riding on the back of your bike. It’s putting in two days of English for twenty minutes of Jesus. It’s screaming and it’s jumping and it’s REAL.?
It is joy. And it abounds. Jesus, this life. How much must you love us? To bring us to places like this. It’s not even about the physical location, but it’s in the heart stuff. How can I speak? How can I say enough? You are the sweetest lover of my soul, to bring me here. So graciously, so tenderly.
?So I’ll abandon everything every time and I’ll follow where you lead.
Because the waters aren’t as cold as I thought.
The waves? Not so big.
And I was made for this long ago.
So I’ll say yes. And I’ll choose you. I’ll stay a little longer and I’ll jump a little higher and I’ll pour out a little more.
It is a full life with you, Jesus.
