13 things I’ve learned in Cambodia

13 things I’ve learned in Cambodia
1. how to live the simple life, literally
2. When the power goes out, the wifi is down, & the water runs out all in one day- stay calm.. you don’t really need those things every second
3. I can actually survive without phone service and wifi, weird. I know.
4. Toilet paper is not a thing here
5. Bugs want to be your best friends, but mosquito nets are the real pal.
6. You can have rice with every meal, every day and survive
7. Sweet and spicy chili sauce makes everything taste better
8. Monks chant at 4am and don’t care about waking you up
9. Monks chant late into the night and don’t care if you’re trying to sleep
10. Washing my clothes by hand is easier than I thought
11. The junk food here actually taste like junk
12. One of my students said his favorite food is dog…. what ?
13. I didn’t know I could physically sweat this much (24/7)

Besides adjusting to the Cambodian simple life style and having a brutal awakening, it truly has been a sweet time. From getting to know all my teammates, (they rock!!!) and getting to teach the cutest children English every morning. We all have learned (and are still learning) how to adjust to having all our comforts ripped away from us but also learning to love these sweet children. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers– specifically that no one gets sick and all the bugs leave us alone! Thanks 🙂
