I AM THAT SOMEONE

Have you ever said the phrase “I Wish I could….”

The end of this sentence could be anything from going on vacation, making a lot of money, looking like that super model, have that persons life, and the list goes on. But do you know what, many people just say these things but don’t actually mean then or don’t think that they will actually happen. And I am the first to say that I have totally said this.

On my World Race I sometimes would catch myself saying, “ Wow I wish that I could sleep in my own bed, take a hot shower, eat American food” and so on. And this did not change when I got home either I was still saying the phrase that started with “I wish I could …”

But let’s think about this why do we say this?? Do we actually want these things to happen or are we just saying it to say it because it would be nice.

Well let me tell you that this phrase is something that will really be thinking about now before I say it.

Three weeks ago my “plans” that I thought were flawless changed dramatically with just a short phone call. I received a call saying that they needed another leader for a group of college students that were going to be in Nepal for 3 months and that they thought of me.

At this point the Lord reminded me of a time that I said, “Wow I really wish that I could go back out on the field to do missions”.  When he brought this up it scared me because I remembered saying it and meaning it (for the future) but also remembered that I had a “plan” that was going to be totally ruined because of my “wish”.

At this point I knew that I had a choice to walk through a door that the Lord had jut opened up or to walk past it. And you see since I am writing this to you from Nepal I chose to walk through the open door.

Fast forward three weeks and right now I have been in Kathmandu Nepal for 11 days. My team of 11 women and 2 men and my co leader Kirsten have done so many amazing things!!!! From running a school in the slums for children that are often forgotten to teaching English to Women that have come from tough places. I have had the opportunity to lead worship many times, even on top of a mountain overlooking the city of Kathmandu, and getting the opportunity to love on my team though the fun and laughs as well as the hard times and tears.

What the Lord has really revealed to me is that, I was looking at others that were out there doing the thing and wishing that I could be them.

But I did not see that all I needed to do was ask and wait on the Lord to see what he was doing.

Because he has already revealed that…..

I AM THAT SOMEONE

I always wondered why someone didn’t do something about that and then I realized that I WAS SOMEONE!!
