The Things I’ve learned

At the beginning of this trip, I thought I knew who I was and where I am with God. I Said yes to him and got on the plane. I’ve never been on a plane before. It was intense I didn’t know if I was going to get scared or how I was going to react. I only knew Maddy for a couple of days. I asked if I could hold her had and she let me. It was so funny and great. We let go and I was looking around to see what I can do. I was trying to sleep and it didn’t work out. We thought we were later for our next flight and we went running to get to the spot we needed. Turns out the plane was a little late and we had time. Well after the Plane ride we landed in Nepal. It was late and it was dark and there weren’t many people there. It was pretty silly we were waiting for our host to pick us up. Turns out that there was a miscommunication about the timing and He thought that it was supposed to be at 2 pm. We waited in the airport for many hours. God was teaching us many lessons right then. When our host answered the phone and found out we were here already then they got us prepaid cabs. We got to the small cabs with all of our stuff. The streets did not have stop lights nor did they have street names. As we were riding in the cabs I was talking to God and asking is this safe? He answered saying “don’t ask questions and look at my work”. We got to our stop and it was so different. I didn’t know where we were nor where we were going. Many people tried to talk to me. Only there was one small issue. They were thinking I was Nepali and tried to speak to me in the language. I look Nepali and many people say that. We walked a bit more and saw this pink house and this was going to be our home for the next three months. We looked at the first floor and saw green walls and then went to the second floor and Sammer told us that was our place. As I was going in the Leaders said to pick your room and bed. Found a nice bed and went to lay on it. It was different than my other bed and God told me “you didn’t come here to stay the same”. We went to eat and as we were walking you could see dust, cars, buses, man, woman, and children. We got to the cafe and they said pick anything under 200 rubies. I decided to get a Vanilla Milkshake. The sun was so bight and my skin felt as if it was burning. We walked back home and I went to lay on my bed so I can take a small nap. Everyone fell asleep for Four hours. It was intense. That way the first day of our Adventure. We have less than two weeks here in Nepal and then we go back home. There are many different things we learned. such as when we ride a taxi we say meter plus 100. We learn that a taxi ride should never be over 400 if its 20 mins or less. We learned that people don’t pay full price unless you go to a fixed store. We learn that never use your left hand to do anything. If you were left-handed you learned to be right-handed. You eat with your right hand. No spoons or forks.make sure you don’t leave your windows open because pigeons will come inside. Don’t use too much water. Wash your clothes in a bucket. Dogs will follow you home if you give them a slight of attention. Those were all useful but these are the some of the things I’ll never forget. Love with all your heart even to the people that are full of darkness. Make sure you spend time with God all the time. Life is Ministry and Ministry is life. I know that I’m not the same person maybe it was the bed. My whole identity is being one with God. My Love for others is strong that I don’t have to say my God’s name and you still can feel His never-ending love. That when things get tough I don’t hide my face. Instead, I will hold it up higher and say My God is bigger than the boogie man. We are here to be the light of this world. We are never-ending Candles and we are here to spread this light that God has given us. We are Man and Women of God. 1 John 5:4-5 says “For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the Victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” I can overcome anything because I believe with my whole heart that Jesus is the Son of God. To say Yes to God whenever he speaks and saying yes the first time he asks. Hannah N said “God has taught me that the Holy Spirit is not a silent part of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is actively guiding us in the life we live. Through the Spirit, we are bold disciples of Christ which allows us to spread the name of Jesus even while being in a country where Christians oppressed.” Faith said “I will never forget learning that the Lord will always have Control when I seek it. He had taught me that through me never having control of my schedule here in Nepal. He has taught me that true ministry is being Flexible.” Not only are we coming back a bit smelly We are coming back with New eyes, new mouth, new ears, and A New Heart. See you in America.
