A moment

Sometimes all it takes to remind me who God really is comes from a moment. That moment could be a smile from a stranger, it could be a hard question asked from a friend, it could be the sound of a heartbeat in silence, it could be anything really. I’ve come to realize that a moment has the freedom and power to make us pause, take a step into an eternal birds eye view to let whatever is separating us from God shatter before us. For me a moment happened recently. It was my team and I’s last night in Cambodia with the kids we had now come to call our beloved friends and we were spending our last night doing devotions together. We sang worship songs in both Khmer and English as usual while sitting on the floor of the church together. Right before we planned on dancing the night away one last time, one of the older kids asked if all of them (them being the kids) could lay hands on and pray for our team. As about 20 orphaned children prayed for my team and I, this was a moment where God shattered all things blinding and distracting before me. With the touch of their hands upon my shoulders, God offered me a little piece of heaven and a precious glimpse into His love. To be authentically loved by these children after such a short time is nothing short of extraordinary. It was an overwhelming gift and reminded me of Jesus and His love for us. I learned from that moment that His children, at any age and  from anywhere in the world can know Him and His love greater and bigger than I could have ever dreamed of. I hope your life is full of all types of moments where God allows you to pause and come to Him again and again. Keep praying and keep believing who Jesus really is!
