Team 1 Is In Cambodia!

Southeast Asia Team one made it to Cambodia 3 days ago. This month we will be working with New Hope For Orphans in Banteay Meanchey. We traded in the city life in Thailand for the rural life in Cambodia. We are learning to appreciate the little things in life like bucket showers and squatty potties. We eat local dishes for our meal (they are delicious).   Our daily ministry looks like teaching English, doing manual labor on the property to serve the staff and Children well, and participating in church services. On top those things we get to hang out and love on the children that live here.   At...

My Life Of Many Jars

For the past two weeks I have been teaching English at a Catholic school. It’s mostly an all girls school, but there are some boys in the younger grades. My group mostly taught with the older girls 6th grade- 12th grade. Each day we walked into the class and the girls would go crazy. Some would scream because they were just so excited to see us. I felt like a famous person walking into a meet and greet with their fans. We would introduce ourselves and play a little game. Then we would break up the class into small groups, so they could ask us questions to improve their English. I sat down...

He Never Said It Was Going To Be Easy

We are in Rachaburri. I have been away from home now for sixteen days. Some days it feels like such a short time, I could even say it feels like we just got off the plane from Malaysia. Other days though, the hard days, it feels like I have been gone for weeks. A day ago, when the homesickness set it, it hit me so hard. I wanted to be angry at God. I felt like I had made a big mistake coming here. I cried for hours. I had forgotten that I am a warrior who doesn’t back down. My leader remind me that I am a woman of God and I don’t run away from fights. Man though, did I want to run...

Disconnected…Well Not Really!

Life in Thailand is great! Funny Snapchat stories, cute instagram pictures, and a camera in the palm of my hand at all times. Sounds great right? Well it was until God took it away from me. A couple days ago I lost all that when a tiny purple dot spread all the way across my phone screen. Since I can’t see the screen I can’t look at snapchat, post on instagram, or take pictures whenever I want! At first I was furious! The rest of my team was having the time of there life on there phones and I had to carry around my laptop just  to message a few people and check Facebook. I talked...

I Am Not My Own

Let me tell you a bit about myself. I honestly am not a great blogger, probably not even a great writer. That doesn’t mean I do not love to write. I tried to blog when I went on a two week trip to Portland last year. I think I blogged the first day, and that is the end of that story. I promised myself that this trip, it would be the trip where I blog at least once a week. In this brief time that I have, I will try to pour my heart out into what has happened so far. I left Little Rock around seven a.m. the morning on the first. It was hard and I had a lot of emotions going through...
