Sophia

Sophia became a Christ follower when she was in her 20s. She loves to read the Word each day even though the print is small and her eyesight is failing. This morning we studying the Bible together, Sophia would first read in Tonga and then I would read in English. What a wonderful time of encouragement studying the Word together!

So… I don’t like kids…

Why does the Lord always seem to place us where we are not comfortable?  Isn’t it lame!?  How we say: “Okay Lord, I will go where you send me”.  Then what does he do?  He sends us somewhere out of our comfort zone.  Why!?   Maybe cause when we are not comfortable we need to rely a little more on him.  When we are not comfortable it gives us the opportunity to seek for that comfort from the Lord.  Ultimately, that is one of the biggest ways I think we grow in relationship, and trust with the Lord.   So, what does this have to do...

What’s an apple mean you?

The first night in Africa I woke up to someone trying to break into our house and our security guard Cartwright chasing them away. Cartwright has been a pleasure to have around our compound. Doubt can be a thief: “the Lord doesn’t...

On Fat Cakes and Long Walks

Abba might be one of my favorite words in the entire world. It connotes so much more than what Father, or Lord, could ever mean. Abba is Daddy, a tender, loving word intended to invoke feelings of deep appreciation, respect, and admiration. I think the fact that we get to call the King of the universe Abba is pretty special. To me, this is an invitation to open our eyes and see the multitude of ways our Abba delights in us. Because Abba carries such a significant meaning by way of a deep, personal, attachment, it means we can expect our Father to treat us this way. Translated to...
