When God Says Go

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

If God asked you to go, would you?

I woke up to the sound of blaring temple music, roosters crowing, and motos passing by. The sun was crimson, just starting to peak over the tree line, and thick humidity hung in the air. Fighting serious jet lag, I walked out on the porch to take a look at the place I would be living in for the next month, and suddenly everything became real.

I was in Cambodia.

It’s hard to imagine it, but only a week before I found out that I would be here. I saw that AIM needed a leader for Passport on a Friday, got accepted Monday, and then left for Gainesville, Georgia that following Friday. I barely had time to breathe, let alone pack and process the fact that I was leading a three month trip to Cambodia and Thailand.

Now I’m here with a team of nine incredible women, all of which have beautiful hearts to serve. Honestly, sometimes I feel like they teach me more than I teach them, just in the way that they walk in vulnerability and obedience.

Stay tuned over the next three months, I have committed myself to being more diligent about blogging this time on the field, (you know, since I only posted four blogs on the Race…) and I want to share the stories of what God is doing here!
