This is Life Now

This is life now.? After 48 long hours of traveling across the world, we have finally arrived and were greeted with open arms, hospitality, and a crowd of children welcoming us home. This was the moment I’ve been waiting for, this is where God has sent me.

?Life this month is loving on the beautiful children who live at the orphanage down the street, in a small village just outside of Kampong Cham Cambodia.? Our morning starts when the roosters crow and chanting at the nearby temples begin which can be as early as 4am. Our days are filled with teaching English, getting schooled in soccer, learning Khmer dances, painting buildings, restoring some facilities, but most importantly spending time with the kiddos because they deserve to know that they have a Heavenly Father who cares about them and loves them unconditionally.

??This is Ther. He’s 10 years old and has such a tender, loving heart. He took my hand yesterday and started to walk me down the street. He kept saying, “we’re going home” in such an excited voice. It wasn’t until halfway through our walk that it hit me. He was talking about the orphanage, that was his home. Later that day, Ther took my hand again and began to take a bracelet off of his wrist and put it on mine. My heart was instantly wrecked by these two moments. This little boy is filled with life and love, you’d never know of his struggles and pain. He doesn’t have much materialistic things, but was so willing to give me what he did have.?My prayer this month is to live life like Ther. To stop taking for granted what I have in life, and to willingly give it away to those around me. For people to bump into me on the street and ask “where does your happiness come from?” And I can tell them of the joy the Lord fills me with daily.

Life here is so so sweet and I cannot wait to share it with y’all
