The Gardener

Imagine your life is a garden, it has twists and turns, it has some wilting flowers and some just about to bloom, it has room for seeds that haven’t been planted yet, and places that still need to be cleared from some ugly weeds that took over.
We’ve been given access to the most amazing Gardener in the world, He’s offered to come in and help with the garden if we let Him. He has a plan for it, He knows every inch of the garden like it’s His own, and intends to make it the most vibrant display of color and beauty the worlds ever seen. And He’s offered His help to come alongside and teach us what plants are bad, what weeds to take out, and what plants need pruning. He never gives too much information at one time, but lovingly leaves sections waiting, and slowly but surely we make our way throughout the rest of the garden. We have no idea the plans He has for it, He’s got it all mapped out, He uses every square inch given, each having its own purpose. He digs up unhealthy plants we had planted and replaces them with something beautiful. He only enters the sections in which we’ve given Him access to, never pushing threw gates we have kept locked.
We’re also warned by our kind Gardener the dangers of doubt. He tells us the story of a man and woman, they lived in a completely flawless garden where the work was already done, and there was no death. There were never any weeds or wilting flowers, there was every kind of plant known to man, the garden was bursting in color and the smell of spring. The Gardener had given them one restriction within the entirety of the garden. One tree they mustn’t touch. And they allowed someone into the garden that made them doubt the goodness of the Gardener. They began to question His skill, His plan for the garden, if it was really as good as they had thought. And it ruined their garden. It destroyed the perfection that had once existed, and that garden has not been the same since that day.
And so I caution you, do not doubt the Gardener. He is kind and thoughtful, He intends to do only good for you. Build your garden hand -in-hand with Him for He will make it the most beautiful creation. If we allow Him, He will take a field of weeds and overgrown vines and slowly and carefully turn it into rich land full of life, full of potential, and forever under the tender care of the most wonderful Gardner in the entire world. And one day, we will return to the perfect garden. He intends to bring us back to a place where we will live wild and free in the beauty and riches of His garden, forever and always enjoying its splendor with Him.
