“In Jesus’ name, you are healed”

The other day I woke up feeling very feverish and weak. As the day went on, it only got worse. I spent most of the day in front of the fan trying to cool off, and I couldn’t go play soccer with the kids or join my team for ministry. It was discouraging because I only had a few days left to be with the kids so I wanted to be with them as much as possible. Later that evening as my team met for team time, I tried to be with them. By this time I had a raging fever, felt weak, and climbing a flight of stairs left me winded. When asked how I was feeling on a scale of 1-10, I was somewhere around a 2.

I joined my team right as they were closing out in prayer and heading to dinner. As I collapsed in a chair, my team leaders and one of my teammates began to pray over me. (Right around this time it was decided if I wasn’t at least to a 3 in the morning I would have to go to the hospital) They prayed for physical things like my fever and muscle soreness and also for emotional things like my being discouraged.

They prayed over me and for me for over an hour. That is serious dedication and faith! I was grateful and of course knew Jesus has the power to heal, but assumed I would inevitably end up at the Cambodian hospital. (After all, Jesus can heal through modern medicine) As they continued to pray, strength came back to my muscles and I was able to walk around the room. Soon after that all aching left my body. My fever continued to drop and my headache was gone. By the end, I was literally dancing.

The day began with me weak and unable to accomplish anything on my own, and by the end of the evening I was dancing with the best of them. That night we had planned a huge dance party for the kids, and Jesus worked it out so I could dance too.

What can you not do on your own? Jesus wants to help you dance, too.
