Called By God?

“Called by God.” This phrase is used by so many people, but what does it sound like? Well I can’t speak for most people but I can take a shot on what my exuberance has been about. But, warning, this blog will contain the following (laughter, sarcasm, dad jokes, a BUNCH of misspelled words, random incomplete thoughts, and a lot of God doing some righteous stuff).     As Samwise Gamgee once said “It’s dangerous business going outside your door, mister Frodo. You never know were you might get swept off to.” …but I want to get swept far away...

Rest

After much preparation and traveling, we finally made it to Iquitos, Peru yesterday morning! It felt like we’ve been stuck in an airport for weeks, even though it hasn’t even been a day and a half. I think I slept for total of 5 hours between three different airports, and I didn’t get much sleep on the planes. After our final flight landed at the smallest airport I’ve ever seen, we grabbed our baggage and prepared for the unexpected. We met our host and were quickly squeezed into taxis with all of our luggage, heading to an unknown destination. Cars and motorcycles...

The Peace of God

I’ve had this strange peace about this mission trip that I couldn’t fully understand. I haven’t been overly stressed about packing, diseases, bugs, or even the fact that I still don’t know down specific details about what we will be doing or how we will be living. At training camp we did exercises to allow the Holy Spirit to speak through us to each other and to ourselves. During this time...

Made It To Cambodia!!

Here we go! After 21 hours of flying time and about 24 more hours spent waiting in airports, myself, my team of 6 and another team made it to Cambodia!     It didn’t take long for me to notice that Cambodian locals are extremely friendly. Within 15 minutes I had two people approach me to chat. Exchanging smiles seems to be a regular thing and taking tuk tuks (makeshift motorcycle cabs) looks like they’ll be an adventure every time I hop on.    While praying on the plane I felt like this month would be a month of sacrifice. We are going to be working at an...
