“you need this one”

today Jesus spoke to me: “You need this one.” After over 40 hours of travel, our team is in our longed-for country of Thailand! The past two days have mostly consisted of recovering from jet-lag, settling into our host home, and becoming Thai at heart through culture orientations. We’re in a city called Ratchaburi, which is about 2 hours from Bangkok. We’ve explored to the local 7eleven gas station and the mall supermarket for some groceries, learning some english lessons to teach the Thai children, and prepping for ministry. but rewinding a few days before this,...

Imagine staring into the face of Jesus

I went into this trip with no expectactions of what we as a team will do but with a great yet simple expectation that God will do so much for us and the people of Thailand. God’s presence and voice is something that has been more uncomfortable and unknown to me. But from the start of training camp I have had a wonderful vision of God physically walking alongside each and every one of the teams. Reacently, when we pray I visualize him looking at us.  One day during training camp we learned about different styles people use to connect with God’s presence. On the info sheet...

Thailand/Cambodia

Hey y’all we made it to Kampong Cham New Hope for Orphans Orhphanage late last night!! We are overhwhelemed by the hospitality and welcome we received from our host family and the Villagers. We expected to serve them and they are going out of their way to take thoughtful care of us!!  Today we got to tour the orphanage and the church, as well as a little bit of the village and the public school. Our favorite welcomer was Chaiya who handed out kisses like the kids hand out flowers. Her home is decorated with pictures of past visitors and was over ecstatic to take one with us with...

Made It To Cambodia!!

Here we go! After 21 hours of flying time and about 24 more hours spent waiting in airports, myself, my team of 6 and another team made it to Cambodia!     It didn’t take long for me to notice that Cambodian locals are extremely friendly. Within 15 minutes I had two people approach me to chat. Exchanging smiles seems to be a regular thing and taking tuk tuks (makeshift motorcycle cabs) looks like they’ll be an adventure every time I hop on.    While praying on the plane I felt like this month would be a month of sacrifice. We are going to be working at an...

Rest

After much preparation and traveling, we finally made it to Iquitos, Peru yesterday morning! It felt like we’ve been stuck in an airport for weeks, even though it hasn’t even been a day and a half. I think I slept for total of 5 hours between three different airports, and I didn’t get much sleep on the planes. After our final flight landed at the smallest airport I’ve ever seen, we grabbed our baggage and prepared for the unexpected. We met our host and were quickly squeezed into taxis with all of our luggage, heading to an unknown destination. Cars and motorcycles...
