The Body of Christ

Ministry is often portrayed as being glamorous but in reality it’s scrubbing the toilets no one else wants to scrub, bleaching the floors that no one wants to bleach, walking into town because you can’t afford to take an uber, going without any form of communication with the outside world for a week, and cleaning up dishes that 15 people have used. Ministry isn’t always holding babies and taking cute team pictures, it’s digging out roots of flower beds for hours, eating a little less than normal, and lots of tears. These past few days our Costa Rica team has...

A Servant’s Heart

“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:26-28 Here’s the honest truth: I am one week into this mission trip and haven’t talked about Jesus to anyone who didn’t already know about Him. limiting the mission

hellllllo!!!! For a week I have been waking up in Thailand, enjoying my time with Jesus and admiring His sunrise. Thailand is absolutely beautiful and the people are so full of joy. This entire week I have been in awe of the community that we are based in. It’s a cute, safe, middle class community. There is new construction, no one is begging on the sidewalks, and everyone seems well fed. Somehow as I was thanking Jesus for allowing me to enjoy this town, I started feeling guilty and doubting that this was not God’s plan for a mission trip. I mean the AC was working so...

Thailand/Cambodia

Hey y’all we made it to Kampong Cham New Hope for Orphans Orhphanage late last night!! We are overhwhelemed by the hospitality and welcome we received from our host family and the Villagers. We expected to serve them and they are going out of their way to take thoughtful care of us!!  Today we got to tour the orphanage and the church, as well as a little bit of the village and the public school. Our favorite welcomer was Chaiya who handed out kisses like the kids hand out flowers. Her home is decorated with pictures of past visitors and was over ecstatic to take one with us with...

Here we goooo

June 4, 2018864 hours into our 14 hour plane ride: I thought that a fourteen hour plane ride was going to be super easy until we got about 4 hours into our fourteen hour plane ride… I’m also realizing that chugging coffee in order to “crash in an hour or two” was not a great idea. There’s an evil clown cat monster staring at me from the seat in front of me which makes my time slightly uncomfortable,(see picture) but overall, even though the trip has only just begun, it has surpassed my expectations already. For starters, I couldn’t have asked for a better...
