Life in Cambodia

Hello family and friends! We have been in Cambodia for almost a week now! After a 5 day travel day, including an unexpected layover in Malaysia (2 days for some of us), we are settled into our new home. We are living and ministering at New Hope for Orphans in Kampong Cham, Cambodia. We live in a small village with amazing people. We have gotten to know the kids and have already fallen in love with their sweet hearts, adorable smiles, giggles, and snuggles. Well, I’m here

Finally. After months of impatience, eagerness and a little bit of FOMO, I am here. Well, kind of. Presently, I am writing from the small yet comfortable church where my team sleeps at the orphanage. 13 sweaty people sleeping in one room brings many challenges, but I’d say it brings more blessings. Because of it, we’ve bonded quicker, our sleeping habits (snoring, sleep talking, the usual) have quickly become normal and most of all, we are all on the same-sleep level. The Beginning of This Journey

I cannot believe that I am sitting on the couch at our ministry location in South Africa. As I was preparing for this trip people would ask me, “Are you in school?” and I would reply “Actually I am going to mission in Africa for three months”. But those were just words, they didn’t stick and hold the full meaning of this reality. Now I am here and it is absolutely insane. The travel was really rough getting here. Sooooo from Atlanta to Qatar we had a 14 hour flight, a 10 hour layover in Qatar, a 10 hour flight from Qatar to Cape Town, and finally a 12 hour bus...
